TypeScript Full Stack Engineer

Remote Contract Engineering

Own features end to end in TypeScript, from the Postgres schema through the API to the interface.

  • TypeScript
  • Node.js
  • React
  • Next.js
  • SvelteKit
  • Postgres
[ 01 ] — The Role

TypeScript runs from top to bottom of most of what we build: Node services on the back end, Next.js, React, and SvelteKit on the front, with types shared across the boundary so a schema change breaks the build rather than production.

This is a genuine full stack seat. You will design the data model, write the API, build the interface, and be the person who knows how the whole feature actually works.

[ 02 ] — You will
01

Build features end to end

  • Design Postgres schemas and write the queries, with an eye on the indexes and the query plan rather than only the ORM
  • Build typed APIs (REST, GraphQL, or tRPC) where the contract between client and server is enforced by the compiler
  • Ship the interface in Next.js, React, or SvelteKit with server rendering, real loading states, and error boundaries that do something useful
02

Integrate the hard systems

  • Connect client platforms to commerce and ERP systems: Shopify, NetSuite, QuickBooks, and whatever else the business already runs on
  • Build the webhook handlers, sync jobs, and reconciliation logic that keep two systems of record agreeing with each other
  • Wire LLM and agent capability into product surfaces, including streaming, tool calls, and graceful failure when a model misbehaves
03

Hold the quality line

  • Write tests where they earn their keep, and make the test suite fast enough that people run it
  • Keep type safety honest. An `any` is a decision you should be able to defend
  • Review code with substance and leave the codebase more navigable than you found it
[ 03 ] — What you bring

Required

  • Four or more years shipping production TypeScript across both server and browser
  • Strong React or Svelte, including the rendering model rather than just the API surface
  • Node.js service experience with Postgres, and comfort with schema design and migrations
  • You have integrated third party APIs that were poorly documented and made them reliable anyway

Helpful, not required

  • Headless commerce experience: Shopify Plus, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, or a headless CMS such as Sanity or Contentful
  • Experience building LLM backed product features in production
  • Comfort in a second language we use: Python or Go
