How we build UI/UX Design

A repeatable four-phase engagement. Same rigor every time, scoped to the work in front of us.

Phase01
Week 1-2

Discover

We map the current state, surface constraints, and lock the scope before any code is written. You leave the phase with a written success definition.

  • Audit document
  • Success criteria
  • Risk register
Phase02
Week 2-3

Architect

We pick the stack, design the data model, and prove the riskiest path first. Architecture decisions are reviewed with your team before build starts.

  • Architecture doc
  • Stack decision record
  • Spike on riskiest path
Phase03
Week 3-10

Build

Iterative delivery in weekly increments. You see working software every Friday, can redirect priorities each Monday, and never wait six weeks for a demo.

  • Weekly demo cadence
  • Production-ready code
  • CI/CD + tests
Phase04
Week 10+

Operate

We ship with observability, hand off runbooks, and stay accountable post-launch. 30-day hypercare is included on every engagement.

  • Monitoring dashboards
  • Operational runbooks

Design That Converts

Design is not decoration. Every visual and interaction decision either moves a user closer to a purchase or creates friction that pushes them away. We treat design as a performance problem, not an aesthetic one.

Our design work is grounded in user research, validated through testing, and measured against conversion outcomes — not just how it looks.

Our Design Process

Research and Discovery

Good design starts with understanding users and business context. We conduct:

  • Stakeholder interviews: Understand business goals, constraints, and success metrics
  • User interviews: Talk to actual customers (or target customers) about their jobs-to-be-done
  • Analytics review: Identify where users drop off in existing flows
  • Competitive analysis: Map the design landscape in your category

This research produces a synthesis document that guides every subsequent design decision.

Information Architecture and User Flows

Before any screens, we map the structure:

  • Site map and navigation architecture
  • User journey maps for primary tasks
  • Content hierarchy for key page types
  • Interaction flows for complex features (checkout, account, search)

Getting this right at the beginning prevents expensive revisions later.

Design System Development

We design components before screens. A design system gives us:

  • Consistent visual language across the product
  • Faster screen design (compose from components, don't draw from scratch)
  • Developer-ready specifications for every component
  • Scalability as the product grows

Design systems are delivered in Figma with Auto Layout, component variants, and documented design tokens.

Prototype and Test

Interactive prototypes let us validate designs before developers write code. We use Framer and Figma for high-fidelity prototypes that simulate the actual user experience.

We run moderated usability tests with 5-8 participants from your target audience. The findings directly inform design iterations.

Conversion Rate Optimization

For brands with existing storefronts, we run CRO engagements focused on increasing conversion without increasing traffic:

  • Analytics deep-dive to identify highest-leverage pages
  • Hypothesis-driven design improvements
  • A/B test design and results analysis
  • Funnel analysis and friction point elimination

The goal: more revenue from the users you already have.

FAQ

Common questions

Everything you need to know before starting a project with us.

Both. We do design-only engagements where you take our Figma files to your own dev team, and full-stack engagements where we design and build.

We need your team for kickoffs, feedback reviews, and final approval. Day-to-day design work is ours to drive — we don't require constant oversight.

Ecommerce UX design is uniquely focused on reducing friction across the entire purchase funnel — from product discovery and filtering to cart behavior and checkout completion. Unlike general web design, every layout decision, interaction pattern, and content hierarchy is measured against its impact on conversion rate and average order value.

Conversion rate optimization design starts with analytics and heatmap data to identify where users drop off, then applies targeted design changes to those high-leverage friction points. We run A/B tests on layout variations, CTA placement, and checkout flow simplifications to validate that each design change delivers measurable revenue lift before rolling it out site-wide.

A strong UI UX design agency for ecommerce should demonstrate a research-driven process, show measurable conversion improvements from past projects, and deliver production-ready design systems — not just static mockups. Look for teams that understand ecommerce-specific patterns like faceted search, product detail pages, and checkout flows, and that can back their design decisions with user testing data.

Our ecommerce redesign services include user research and analytics review, information architecture, wireframing, a full component-based design system in Figma, interactive prototyping, and usability testing with real users. Every redesign engagement delivers developer-ready specifications with interaction details, responsive breakpoints, and documented design tokens so implementation matches the design exactly.
