GCP DevOps Engineer

Remote Contract Infrastructure

Own the Google Cloud footprint behind our agentic systems and client platforms, defined entirely in code.

  • GCP
  • Terraform
  • Kubernetes
  • Cloud Run
  • Pub/Sub
  • BigQuery
[ 01 ] — The Role

A large share of our workload runs on Google Cloud: Cloud Run for stateless services, GKE where we need orchestration, Pub/Sub as the spine between agents, and BigQuery underneath the analytics. This role owns that footprint.

We define infrastructure in code and treat clicking through a console as a bug. If you have inherited a project where nobody could say what was actually deployed, you know exactly why.

[ 02 ] — You will
01

Own the platform

  • Design and maintain GCP infrastructure in Terraform: projects, IAM, networking, Cloud Run, GKE, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, and BigQuery
  • Build deployment pipelines that are reproducible and reversible, with real rollback rather than a hope and a redeploy
  • Enforce least privilege across service accounts and workload identity, and keep secrets in Secret Manager instead of environment files
02

Make it observable

  • Instrument the platform with Cloud Monitoring, logging, and tracing so an incident starts with data rather than guesswork
  • Define SLOs that reflect what clients actually care about, and alerts that fire on those rather than on CPU
  • Run cost analysis and right size the footprint. Cloud spend is a product decision and you will be in it
03

Support the engineers

  • Give application teams paved paths: templates, modules, and CI that make the correct deployment the easy one
  • Lead incident response and write postmortems that produce fixes instead of blame
  • Handle multi environment and multi tenant client setups where isolation is a contractual requirement
[ 03 ] — What you bring

Required

  • Four or more years running production infrastructure on Google Cloud
  • Strong Terraform. You write modules other people use and you understand state management
  • Kubernetes in production: workloads, networking, autoscaling, and debugging a cluster that is misbehaving
  • Scripting depth in Python, Go, or Bash, and comfort in CI systems such as GitHub Actions or Cloud Build

Helpful, not required

  • Multi cloud experience, particularly AWS alongside GCP
  • Experience serving GPU or inference workloads on GKE or Cloud Run
  • Background in data platform work: Dataflow, BigQuery modeling, or streaming pipelines
