Frontend Engineer, React and Next.js

Remote Contract Engineering

Build fast, accessible storefronts and product interfaces in React and Next.js for enterprise brands.

  • React
  • Next.js
  • TypeScript
  • Tailwind
  • GSAP
  • Headless Commerce
[ 01 ] — The Role

Our front end work goes out under the names of brands with real traffic, which means performance and accessibility are acceptance criteria rather than a later cleanup ticket. You will build headless storefronts, client dashboards, and the interfaces that sit on top of our agent systems.

We care about what the user experiences on a mid range phone on a bad connection, not what the demo looks like on your laptop.

[ 02 ] — You will
01

Build the interface

  • Ship production React and Next.js with the App Router, server components, and a deliberate choice about what runs where
  • Build headless storefronts against commerce APIs, with rendering strategy chosen per route rather than applied blindly
  • Implement design systems in Tailwind that stay consistent as they grow instead of fragmenting into one off components
02

Make it fast and usable

  • Own Core Web Vitals on the surfaces you build, and treat a regression as a defect
  • Meet WCAG standards through semantics and keyboard support rather than retrofitted ARIA
  • Manage bundle size, code splitting, and image strategy so pages stay fast as features land
03

Work across the boundary

  • Integrate typed APIs and handle loading, error, and empty states as first class parts of the design
  • Build interfaces for streaming and agent driven features where responses arrive progressively
  • Partner with design closely enough that the build matches the intent and the edge cases get resolved before they ship
[ 03 ] — What you bring

Required

  • Three or more years building production React, with meaningful Next.js experience
  • Strong TypeScript and real command of CSS, including layout and Tailwind at scale
  • Demonstrated performance work: you can describe a page you made measurably faster and how you proved it
  • Accessibility is part of how you build rather than a checklist someone else runs

Helpful, not required

  • Headless commerce experience with Shopify Plus, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, or similar
  • Svelte or SvelteKit alongside React
  • Animation and motion work, particularly GSAP
