Engagement

How we build Strapi Development

A repeatable four-phase engagement. Same rigor every time, scoped to the work in front of us.

Phase 01
Week 1-2

Discover

We map the current state, surface constraints, and lock the scope before any code is written. You leave the phase with a written success definition.

  • Audit document
  • Success criteria
  • Risk register
Phase 02
Week 2-3

Architect

We pick the stack, design the data model, and prove the riskiest path first. Architecture decisions are reviewed with your team before build starts.

  • Architecture doc
  • Stack decision record
  • Spike on riskiest path
Phase 03
Week 3-10

Build

Iterative delivery in weekly increments. You see working software every Friday, can redirect priorities each Monday, and never wait six weeks for a demo.

  • Weekly demo cadence
  • Production-ready code
  • CI/CD + tests
Phase 04
Week 10+

Operate

We ship with observability, hand off runbooks, and stay accountable post-launch. 30-day hypercare is included on every engagement.

  • Monitoring dashboards
  • Operational runbooks

Open Architecture Without an Operational Blind Spot

Strapi gives product teams control over the CMS application and its infrastructure. We use that flexibility to build content APIs that fit the product rather than forcing the product into a vendor's fixed model.

The trade-off is ownership. A production Strapi implementation needs the same engineering discipline as any other backend service: security updates, database operations, observability, backups, and controlled deployments.

Content and API Architecture

We design collection types, single types, components, dynamic zones, and relationships around the consuming experiences. Custom controllers and services encapsulate business rules so API behavior stays testable and maintainable.

REST or GraphQL is selected based on client needs, caching strategy, and operational simplicity rather than preference.

Custom Plugins and Integrations

When the standard admin does not cover the workflow, we extend it. Common additions include product selectors, taxonomy tools, asset integrations, approval utilities, importers, and connections to internal systems.

Backend integrations are isolated behind clear service boundaries so external APIs can change without destabilizing the content model.

Production Infrastructure

We deploy Strapi with a managed relational database, object storage for media, CDN delivery, encrypted secrets, health checks, structured logs, alerts, and automated backups. Environments are separated and database migrations are part of the release process.

Migration and Launch

Content migrations are scripted, repeatable, and validated against source totals and required relationships. Before launch we rehearse the import, load-test critical endpoints, verify permissions, and document recovery procedures for the team taking ownership.

FAQ

Common questions

Everything you need to know before starting a project with us.

Strapi is a good fit when your team needs control over hosting, data residency, backend logic, or API behavior. That control also creates operational responsibility, so we include deployment, security, backups, and monitoring in the architecture.

Yes. We configure the content manager and build custom fields, plugins, views, and workflow integrations when standard Strapi capabilities do not match the editorial process.

We can design and implement a managed deployment on your preferred cloud, including containers, database, asset storage, CDN, secrets, backups, monitoring, and staged releases.

Yes. We use Strapi for editorial and application content while integrating with Shopify, BigCommerce, payment providers, search services, and internal APIs. Transactional systems remain authoritative for pricing, inventory, and orders.
